Cisco ip phone 7960 - Restore Factory setting

Hai ,

 

I am having a ip phone 7960 , i have to reset the factory setting (Doesn't know the password ), so i tried the usual Method

 

1 . Pressing the " # " key while restarting the phone , and enter 123456789*0#

 

but it doesn't work , There is no effect for pressing the # key , the phone is booting normally ..

 

 

Is there any way to unlock the phone

So please help me

    Dear Sreeraj,

     

     

    Kindly follow the steps again. I think you didn't performed the action in the mentioned time, because there is a time frame of 60 seconds in which you have to do it. Try one more time with these steps. Hope it will work , i have personally tried myself , and it works perfectly at my end.

     

     

     

     

    1. Complete the following steps:

    2. Unplug the power cable from the phone, hold dows the # key, and
      then plug the power cable in again.

    3. The phone begins its power up cycle.

    4. Release the # key after the Speaker button is no longer
      lit.

    5. You should see the following message on the phone:

    6. "Reset key sequence detected"

    7. Press 123456789*0# within 60 seconds after the Headset, Mute,
      and Speaker buttons begin to flash.

    8. If you enter this key sequence correctly, the phone displays
      this prompt:

    9. Keep network cfg? 1 = yes 2 = no

    10. In order to maintain the current network configuration settings
      for the phone when the phone resets, press 1. In order to reset the
      network configuration settings when the phone resets, press 2.

    Hello Asad,

     

    I have problem with resetting the phone

     

    One of the 7960 phones, which I am trying to reset, the phone doesnt ask for ""Reset key sequence detected", but directly reboots. I tried many times, but I feel it doesn't consider # key. Can you please suggest, some method to reset the phone.
